The Clique Movie is out now if you haven’t seen it, see it now before it’s too late. The stars are Ellen Marlow, Samantha Boscorino, Elizabeth McLaughlin, Bridget Mendler and  Sophie Anna Everhard. This movie is great. It’s the movie version of the first book of The Clique Series by Lisi Harrison. I’ve been reading these books since I was in the third grade and now I’m in the sixth. These are my favorite books and I reccomend the movie and all of the books including the summer collection to any girls who like clique novels about 12 year-old girls and drama.

This is a video of my dad and I at the Rockefeller Center looking at the tree. It was pretty small, but still pretty. I bet it looks even better because it snowed yesterday.

We also saw people ice skating. Some of them were good at it and others weren’t. It was still fun though.

It’s not obvious to us Dads sometimes, because our thoughts are dominated by a western hemispheric “machismo” world view.
This in fact includes amongst others, is being out of touch with one’s feelings, or even being scared to show feelings, even not knowing HOW to feel.
Men give disproportionate attention to thier lusts, egos, gadgets, ability to destroy, earn money and a host of other distractions from being a nurturing human being.
Most of the dads I know including myself did not plan to have a child, it just happened. Some of us Manned up and readjusted our thinking and habits for the Fatherhood task at hand.
I was fortunate enough to have my Father in the picture until, age 17, when he bounced in shame at the time that my mom was the primary breadwinner of the house. Yes he was there for the most part
and I am greatful for the contribution he gave to the creation of Protius Indigenous, BUT…… he was not emotionally present for a greater part of the 17 years he lived at home with me. Sound familiar?
This manifests today in the form of me in a mild struggle with free flowing, self taught, nurturing of my daughter Faith. Though my nurturing shines through, I feel it is impeded by the lack of this example as a child.

This is echoed by many dads I encounter in a group I attend called D-UP! (Dads United for Parenting). With groups like this one, Fathers have an opportunity to examine self, i.e., self love,and self care, within the context of devolping attitudes and skills for male nurturance.

Some may not see the importance of this, but the associated detriments include what we see today in a male run,
self destructive pop culture, bent on promoting unloving, morbid realites for future generations to be influnced under?
Nuturing is not presented as in ‘vogue” at the moment and society pays in not so subtle ways.
If you live in the NYC area and you have been having a burning urge to check your fathering style and make some improvements, I highly recommend D-UP (Dads United for Parenting).
There you will find men ready to sharpen men into the finest dads society has to offer. Don’t expect to come here and have a pity party and call your baby moms a bitch all day, it’s about men doing self examination to identify the root of the fathering style, positive and negative patterns, and solutions to baby mama drama.

Their menu includes the finest in basic Soul Food ranging from Fried Catfish, Mac & Cheese, Candied Yams, and Corn Muffins amongst others.But the hit with me is their Chicken & Waffles for only $3 bucks, your choice of chicken part, and additional pieces of chicken are only $1 ($1 for 2 wings).

The waffles seems to have cornmeal in them, lending to a real delicious home-style taste. Piece of Chicken is sooooo low key, with huuuuuge offerings at a budget (God knows, we need it in NYC)
This window served eatery does not accommodate seating so we enjoyed our lunch at a local park.
This is for parents of Tweens, who are in the Times Square area, spending some quality time together and want a bite to eat on a budget, you can’t go wrong here.

When you get there, tell them that Tween Grrl sent you and order a stack of waffles and some chicken for us too!

If you are a punk rock beginner, you should start by getting a new choice of style . For example you would buy checkered skinny jeans, black skinny jeans, or just regular colors. You would also buy spikey jewelry and such. You’d probably like to wear cool Vans, Etnies, DC’s or Chuck’s. In my photo I will be styling a red mini-skirt with hot pink leggings. On foot I will be wearing a pair of red and black chuck’s. My jewelry is a pink and black ring, red earrings, and a blue star necklace.

Girly

If you are falling out of a tomboy stage or any other, to become a girly girl, you’d start by, shopping at stores like Target, Scoop, Limited Too, Claire’s, Sephora (maybe), American Eagle, Roxy, Urban Outfitters, Uniqlo, H&M, Old Navy, Soho street venders, etc.

Cosmetics: Smackers, Sephora, Bath & Body Works, Mac, Covergirl, Maybeline New York, Nuetrogena, etc.

Mani & Pedi: Brucci, N.Y.C. (New York Color), Sally Hansen, Sinful Colors, etc.

Well, I went to Washington D.C., for my senior trip. I stayed at the the Holiday Inn Exspress in Maryland for 2 nights and 3 days. It was great. I left Brooklyn on Monday the second of June, and I came back yesterday. I got a few souvenirs. I went to so many museums, and I saw the White house. Face to face, or in this case, house to face. I had two slumber parties. They were pretty great. Oh, and I even saw real Diamonds at a museum. (Diamond is my birth stone!) They were beautiful. I also went to a cemetery. I forget the name, but it was still cool.

Congrats to all tweens that are graduating this year.

1. Wear cute converse or skull and crossbone ballet flats or vans with black shorts or jeans.
2. Wear cute shirts with funny punk rock sayings on them that will make people crack up.
3. Wear cute jewelry with cute things on them, like silver stars, guitars, or some other cool punk rock jewelry.
