When I realized I was a POSEUR!!!

When I realized I was a poseur, I was very dissapointed with myself. I was trying to be a tomboy. A tomboy is a girl that is interested in behaving in a boyish way. I tried to be a tomboy, because, my “friends”, kept saying that I was too much of a ‘Girly-Girl’ or that I was such a ‘Material Girl’. I got so angry. So I stopped wearing belts with my jeans, so my pants were kinda’ baggy. Then I started polishing my nails Black every other week, and I tried my best not to wear too much Pink. I even started changing my grammar. I kept saying, “yo”, “dude”, “’sup”, etc. Some times I even almost called my teacher yo or dude. I even asked for some help with tattoo ideas for when I turn 18 years old.

Now, I know that even if someone does say that I’m such a girly- girl or a material girl, I’ll just say, “Who cares, I love being girly. That’s who I am, no one can change that, I’m happy being a girly-girl”. If you’re one too, you should be happy. So if you’re a tomboy or a punk rock girl, then be happy, and don’t be a poseur like I was.

Po-seur(noun): a person who pretends to be something, he or she is not.
